Who Can Register Marriage Before SDM?
You can register marriage if:
- Both parties are of legal age (21 for male, 18 for female).
- Marriage is performed under Hindu, Sikh, Jain, or Buddhist customs (for Hindu Marriage Act).
- Parties are from different religions or want a civil marriage (Special Marriage Act).

Physical Appearance Before SDM
- Both parties and at least 2 witnesses must appear in person.
- The SDM may verify documents, ask basic questions, and check eligibility.

- If all documents are valid and parties are eligible:
- SDM signs the marriage certificate.
- A copy is provided to the couple.

- File notice of intended marriage at SDM office.
